Oldies: Jones Very - Words and Days

Organizing the shelves is a constant and necessary chore to make room for whatever new arrivals demand space.  Every time it's done I end up uncovering something that I either thought had long ago sold or sadly realize is tenaciously sticking around for far too long despite its quality. Today that title is Jones Very's Words and Days.  The release is from former Articles of Faith frontman Vic Bondi and was released in 1989 just before the onset of grunge muddied up the distinctions between metal, punk, and classic rock. Jones Very's sound is that of post-punk mixed with a kind of politco folk troubadour leaning that typified artists from Joe Strummer to New Model Army to Billy Bragg and so on.

There's a longer review over at Sputnik Music you can read and consider and a video below. The vinyl has been here as long as I can remember and currently resides in our 30% off sales bin selling for a whopping $5.59 + hst. GET IT OUT OF HERE, finally.
