Record Store Day.

It's almost that time again.  Next Saturday is Record Store Day!!!

Started back in 2007 by a few enterprising gentlemen who wanted to embrace the independent spirit of the local record store and link arms with the 700+ indies across the USA.  Since then it's expanded around the globe.  This year it's better than every for we Canadians... previously we were unable to secure access to most of the special releases labels and bands were putting together for RSD.  But not 2010.  Both Backstreet locations are expecting to offer exclusive and ltd. ed. vinyl from groups like:

Omar Rodriguez. Yeasayer, The Album Leaf , Beach House, Cocorosie, Deerhoof, Dum Dum Girls/Male Bonding, Happy Birthday, Rodriguez, Soundgarden, The Thermals/The Cribs, Neil Young, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wilco, Them Crooked Vultures, Superchunk, Joe Strummer, Sonic Youth, Arthur Russell, Rolling Stones, Ramones, R.E.M., Queens of the Stone Age, Pavement, Muse, Mountain Goats, Mastodon, John Lennon, Hold Steady, Peter Gabriel & Stephin Merritt, Fucked Up, Flaming Lips, Roky Erickson, Devo, Elvis Costello, Neko Case, Black Keys.

Both locations will also have live music all afternoon.
